In this post, we explain how to clone a BOSCH MEG17.9.12 ECU (commonly used in Kia models) using LAUNCH X-prog3 ECU & TCU Programmer.
Steps:
First, identify the correct ECU model according to the vehicle’s model year in Xprog3 software. Select the ECU and open the direct connection wiring diagram to ensure proper connection.
Next, read the ECU information and proceed to read the complete data, then save the file securely. After disconnecting, replace the damaged ECU with the new one.
Reconnect the new ECU, skip re-reading the data, and directly write the original complete data back to the replacement ECU. Once writing is finished, disconnect the device.
Final Result
BOSCH ECU cloning process is now complete. The new ECU will function exactly like the original, with no additional coding required.
