This article is a review about Autel MK808BT PRO and XTOOL D7. Here We will compare their features including firmware, diagnosis, and key programming.
1.Firmware
Autel used to and still have a lead here, though Xtool’s recent design like language in IP series narrows the gap.
2.Charging
For me Xtool is the winner here, as Xtool devices usually have multiple charging ports, and all charge the device.
And their wire could charge off the car’s battery once connected to the OBD port.
3.Features
Diagnosis
It varies in cars.
For my Honda Accord 2017,
The Xtool D7 Tablet is able to replace BCM while Autel MP808TS can’t.
And also find things that Autel supports and that Xtool doesn’t.
Software
Autel has less communication error.
Key Programming.
If you are not ready to invest in an advanced key programmer, all things being equal, Xtool may be better.
Xtool is the winner on reading pin code and programming keys.
Xtool D7 or above could be connected to like KC501 Programmer to add keys.
But Autel software is more refined and user-friendly.
4.Customer Support
Sometimes you will get a reply from Xtool within 24 hours, and it fixes bugs quiet quickly.
5.Speed
Autel is generally slower than Xtool scanners.
6.Update
Xtool devices are generally more affordable, both for cost of device and cost of renewing subscription.
