FLEX KORHEX Boot Glitch Now Supports Bosch MD1CS069 and MD1CS089 ECUs

Magicmotorsport has expanded its KORHEX Boot Glitch coverage in FLEX software version 8.26.0.0. The update adds support for selected Bosch MD1CS069 and MD1CS089 ECUs equipped with the TC299 processor, giving technicians more options for ECU reading, writing and backup.

These ECUs are found in various commercial and industrial vehicle applications. With the new protocol, compatible units can be accessed through the supported Boot Glitch procedure without direct work on the ECU’s PCB.

What’s New in FLEX 8.26.0.0?

The latest update introduces KORHEX Boot Glitch support for compatible Bosch MD1CS069 and MD1CS089 control units.

KORHEX uses a dedicated contact point on the microcontroller to establish access to the ECU. Technicians can follow the FLEX software instructions and the relevant connection diagram to locate the required point and complete the procedure.

For workshops working with supported ECUs, this provides an alternative to more invasive PCB-level access methods.

Bosch MD1CS069 and MD1CS089: Supported Functions

  • Internal Flash: Read and write
  • EEPROM: Read and write
  • Checksum: Supported
  • Full Backup: Supported
  • Connection mode: Boot Glitch

Magicmotorsport lists an approximate connection time of 30 seconds, a reading time of 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and a writing time of around 2 minutes. Actual times may vary depending on the ECU and working conditions.

Always check the protocol details in FLEX before starting, as available functions can differ between ECU variants.

Which Vehicles Use These ECUs?

The supported Bosch MD1CS069 and MD1CS089 ECU families cover selected commercial and industrial vehicles.

  • Fiat Ducato V – 2.2L MultiJet III, 138 HP, 2021
  • Dr Motor PK8 – 2.0L Turbo, 134 HP, 2023
  • John Deere 5G Series 5115G – 3.6L, 114 HP, 2022
  • Massey Ferguson MF 3xx – 3.6L, 104 HP, 2023
  • New Holland T5 Series II – 3.6L, 99 HP, 2021

This is a selection of example applications, not a complete compatibility list. Vehicle model and year alone are not enough to confirm support. Check the exact ECU identification, processor and protocol in the official FLEX vehicle list before proceeding.

Boot Glitch and Bench Operations

The new protocol provides access through the supported KORHEX Boot Glitch procedure. Depending on the ECU and the available FLEX functions, technicians can then continue with the supported operations in Boot Glitch mode or unlock the ECU for subsequent Bench work.

This can be useful for workshops handling ECU replacement, data backup and other supported programming jobs on compatible control units.

What FLEX License Do You Need?

To use this KORHEX protocol, Magicmotorsport specifies one of the following configurations:

Check your current FLEX configuration and license before starting. The required protocol and supported operations must match the specific ECU you intend to work on.

How to Check Compatibility

Before connecting to a Bosch MD1CS069 or MD1CS089 ECU, verify the ECU version and confirm that it appears in the official FLEX application list. Follow the connection instructions provided by the software, and make sure your hardware and license support the selected operation.
