How to activate or disable DRLs with Ford VCM2 IDS

Daytime running light are LEDs in chrome bezels. Some people love them while others dislike them.

The Daytime Running Lights are controlled by the smart junction box (SJB). The module is located under the dash. It is programmable with a Ford IDS scanner via the OBDⅡconnector.

WIFI or none-WIFI Ford VCM2 diagnostic tool with IDS software

 

How to activate DRLs with Ford IDS:
1) Install Ford VCM2 scan tool

2) Locate the OBD diagnostic socket and connect the VCM2 main unit into the OBD port

3) Go to programmable parameters, select exterior lighting.

4) Change from disabled to enabled in the body control module and instrument cluster module

5) Follow the directions on screen for cycling the key or ignition on and off.

6) Clear codes and its done.

 

How to disable DRLs with Ford IDS:

1) Install Ford VCM2 scan tool

2) Locate the OBD diagnostic socket and connect the VCM2 main unit into the OBD port

3) Go to programmable parameters, select exterior lighting.

4) Change from enabled to disabled in the body control module and instrument cluster module

5) The DRLs has been successfully disabled.
