This guide explains the basic process of Buick GL8 smart key programming using LAUNCH X431 IMMO Elite and X-431 Key Programmer.
Step 1: Generate the Remote Key
Open the device and select Vehicle Remote.
Choose Buick → All Remotes.
Select Enclave (2018–2020) KeylessGo ID46 433.
Tap Generate to create the remote key.
Once completed, the remote is ready for programming.
Step 2: Enter Anti-Theft Key Matching
Next, access the immobilizer system.
Select Anti-Theft Key Matching.
Choose Manually Select (Via Model).
Select Buick → (L) 2020 → Enclave.
This will open the key programming menu.
Step 3: Add a Smart Key
Tap Add Smart Key.
Turn the ignition ON.
For push-start vehicles, press and hold the start button for 5–10 seconds until the ignition activates.
Step 4: Insert the Smart Key
Place the smart key in the vehicle’s key sensing area, usually located:
Inside the armrest box
Under the cup holder
Near the center console
Make sure no other smart keys are inside the vehicle during programming.
Step 5: Enter the PIN Code
When prompted:
Enter the 4-digit PIN code.
Confirm the entry.
Wait for system authentication.
After verification, the system will begin programming the key.
Step 6: Complete Key Synchronization
After programming:
Turn off the engine.
Open and close the driver door.
Remove the smart key.
Press Lock + Unlock simultaneously on the remote.
When the screen shows Program Completed, the Buick GL8 smart key programming process is finished.
